Still can't get enough of Call of Duty in your life? Well, today is your luck day as Activision has released the first official iPhone game of the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty: World at War: Zombies is a first person shooter game that recreates the Zombie survival mode found in the console version of Treyarch's Call of Duty: World at War.

After the whole Napster debacle Metallica is now quite gung ho about using newfangled technology to get their music out to the public. They partnered up with Activision for Guitar Hero: Metallica earlier this year, and now they're teaming up with Tapulous for a stab at the iPhone gaming market.

It may not have the same hoopla as E3 had, but the GamesCom sure is making the developers and publishers just as busy all the same. With their promised new wares, any event definitely is an opportunity to show what they've got -- and to impress. And we all know it would do everyone a whole lot of good if we get more impressive games around, especially if we want some positive movement in the charts. CoD fans rejoice! Activision and Treyarch has announced today the release of Call of Duty: World at War Companion for iPhone and iPod touch. The new application allows fans to remotely access important news and updates of the game from the palm of their hand.

We've had some heavy-hitting gaming news this past week, say for example Ghostbusters: The Video Game's very apparent graphics discrepancy on competing consoles Xbox 360 and PS3. We've had a few publishers whip their E3 lineups out this week, so we're starting to get a picture of all those publishers and developers packed inside the LA Convention Center next week - but hold up, a few won't cut it. There are over a hundred different companies flocking to show their goods at the Electronic Entertainment Expo - publishers, developers, retailers, game sites, and all sorts of businesses having to do with electronic entertainment. Activision has announced that Wolverine has sunk his claws into the App Store soon via an app called X-men Origins: Wolverine The Game -- Feral Sense. God I hate these long titles with all the colons and dashes. Unwieldy title aside, Feral Sense does bring an interesting little feature to the App Store's stable of applications and games.

When it comes to iPhones and World of Warcraft, this won't be the first video showing how the latter could run on the former, with most of them being empty claims and mere mock-ups. This time, however, things may be a little different. Thanks to Vollee and the VolleeX engine, a video demonstration was put up on YouTube with the massively popular MMORPG running on an iPhone. Apple's App Store has reached its one-billionth download, and that's certainly a cause for a party. As part of their celebration, Apple has rolled out the list of the twenty most downloaded iPhone and iPod Touch applications, for both free and paid categories. Check them out at the full article.
