iPhone OS 3.0 - Image 1

After much waiting, torrent-scanning, and news-watching, Apple has finally released iPhone OS 3.0. The new OS supports internet tethering, stereo Bluetooth audio, and a number of features that you may also want to know about.

Features:
  • Peer-to-peer gaming support
  • Third-party game accessory support
  • Push notification
  • Internet tethering
  • Stereo Bluetooth audio
  • MMS messaging
  • Cut, copy & paste
  • Spotlight search
  • Landscape keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes and Safari
The upgrade is not only a major overhaul of the previous iPhone operating system, it's also a ramp-up for the gaming capabilities of the iPhone and iPod Touch. With peer-to-peer gaming and game accessory support, the iPhone markets itself more as a gaming platform now than it used to.

iPhone users may avail of the upgrade for free, while iPod Touch users will have to cough up US$ 9.95 for theirs. The new iPhone 3G S will also come with the new firmware, so there won't be a need to download if you're planning to get one.

is this like Ad Hoc for the PSP cause the iPod really needed that since only way to play multi was through the internet or a network.
