It surely would look a lot like Christmas very soon if this groovy plan pushes through. Word has it that the infamous iPhone hacker ZodTTD is set to give all you N64 fans a sweet treat very soon. Yes, you read that right. "iPhone" and "N64" in one sentence.Said ZodTTD on his forum: You may soon see N64 on your favorite Apple device. But I can't promise it will run games top notch just yet as things are too early to say. There's hope though, with a 3D accelerated graphics plugin, as well as an ARM dynarec. I'm somewhat light on details at the moment due to wanting to balance the hype. Things look good for this project though. We're sure to be keeping you updated on this as soon as more details trickle in. Related Articles: |

» buttons?
the Nintendo 64 controller has too many buttons, I can't think of any way that the iPhone/iPod Touch could handle that in a comfortable way. ... unless they can connect somehow the "camera" buttons to the iPhone accelerometer...

» buttons....
I agree with superSZ that the lack of any buttons at all will kill the experience even if the emulator runs well. I will stick with my psp for now.

» True... but there's something that can be done...
All we need to control would be: a D-Pad , A, B , L, R, Z, Start, Select and C-Pad. A swipe-switchable A, B to C-Pad mechanism (virtually) and a Joystick - center- and D-Pad on the up, down, left, right ; that when you "swipe" from center (Joystick would be centered at (0,0), s like holding/pressing and swipe ) and when you "press" on up(0,1), down(0,-1), left (-1,0) and right(1,0) (without swiping from center just press up or down, etc, spontaneously.
This kind of mechanism could be easily develop by ZodTTD can do :). I agree about sticking with the PSP, but still the PSP N64 Emulator isn't fully developed yet, still has slowdownds and freeze ups, still it can play a considerable list of N64 Games, ones more than others runs better and devs are making huge progress than ever :)
I hope ZodTTD be serious about this :), it's so fun to play GBA in my iPhone 3g when I am bored or waiting in a line, lol.
Thanks...
