PSP Go - Image 1Set sail for fail. That's what the independent games chain Chips' managing director believes where the PSP Go is headed to. Don McCabe is of the (rather) strong opinion that the PSP Go will "fail miserably."

iPhone Weekend Warrior - Image 1Earlier this week, Apple's marketing VP, Phil Schiller, let out a few comments that made a lot of people go "WTF?!" in front of their monitors. Not only did he pin the PSP and the DS down for not being as cool as the iPod Touch, he also went as far as calling the two handhelds overpriced. Good grief, you sure about that, man? Catch the aftermath and a few more iPhone knick-knacks (that apparently make it ultra cool) right here on the iPhone Weekend Warrior.

iPhone vs Wii - Image 1 A Telltale games employee who goes by the username Yare has claimed on the official Telltale forums that the Apple iPhone packs more power than Nintendo's Wii home console. Not just more powerful, but "much more powerful."

App Store - Image 1When it comes to selling games at the App Store, cheaper is the way to go. According to a study conducted by Pocket Gamer on the App Store's top 100 paid games, there is a much higher likelihood for an App Store game to sell more if it comes at a smaller cost. Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles Review - Image 1When I think of Assassin's Creed, two things come to mind: free roam and gigantic maps. The excellent hardware on the next-gen consoles made free roaming the open ended maps of Assassin's Creed possible. However, the iPhone does not have the same hardware capabilities that the next-gen consoles possess, not even close. Sure enough, Gameloft failed to translate the console experience onto the iPhone and I did not expect them to. Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles still has its fair share of positive attributes. Read on for the full review.

Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1An ex-SCEE employee has laid out a few suggestions on how Sony can improve its relationships with third-party developers for the PlayStation Portable. Among them was a redesign of the PSP SDK, which he said pales in comparison to the iPhone SDK.

GDC: ngmoco's Young: iPhone 'Better Than DS, Better Than PSP' - Image 1 Mudslinging between Sony and Microsoft seems to be playing second fiddle these days to mudslinging between the PSP and the iPhone. The war between the two devices continues on during GDC, where ngmoco's co-founder Neil Young says that Apple's brainchild is "better than the DS, better than the PSP." Oh look he took a hit at Nintendo too. Pretty bold for the leader of a relatively new games company.

iPhone - Image 1The iPhone vs. PSP debate has been around for some time now. Some people just can't seem to understand that comparing the iPhone to the PSP isn't as empirical as it sounds. They're two different devices, each with its pros and cons, apples and oranges, cows and sheep. Meanwhile, Sony isn't all that worried, with Ray Maguire more recently stating that the PSP will always win as a dedicated games machine. Taking a cue from that, Sony's Peter Dille has added his own two cents into the boiling pot by saying that there's no competition at all.

PSP iPhoneIt's like the console wars, except, more portable this time. Just the other day, an analyst claimed that the iPod Touch would become (if it already isn't) a worthy adversary to the PSP. But the way SCEE's Ray Maguire looks at it, the iPod Touch and iPhone may be well off on their own as a handheld device, but when you're talking a "specific games machine," it's PSP all the way.

Analyst: iPod Touch to kill off PSP - Image 1 Another one boards the iPhone-greater-than-PSP wagon. This time it's Game Brief analyst Nicholas Lovell, who says that the Apple device will be the "final nail in the PSP's coffin."
