It looks like developer Richard Shearman has released another update for dTunes. This info wasn't included in the dev's post when we reported about dTunes v2.6, so we're guessing this is for v2.6.1. Hit the full article for a look at what's new.

Sure, static wallpapers are fun, but haven't you ever thought about using a video as your iPhone's wallpaper? If the answer to that question is yes, then vWallpaper is the app for you. Just in time too, as the app's finally out of beta and now works with firmware 2.x.

MCallShow v1.1 is a homebrew app developed by MCleaner for the iPhoneOS 2.x which allows you to see where your incoming call is coming from. BiteSMS, BigBoss' alternative text messaging app for the Apple iPhone, has just been upgraded to version 2.5. Thing is, it looks like the beta version is the only one that's available on Cydia right now, but you can still try it out by adding the http://www.bitesms.com/cydia/beta repository to Cydia. iPhone coding whiz ZodTTD has finally release vlc4iphone to the public. The last release was back in September - the v1.0.0 Beta version. Ever since then, he's been a bit of a dilemma due to the appearance of mplayer. That's not stopping ZodTTD though, as he assumes that some users would still want to use vlc4iphone's unique features like the ShoutCast Internet radio browser/player, or the ability to stream video and audio content from PC to iPhone.

A new iPhone "instrument" program called Ocarina is out, hailing itself as the device's "first true musical instrument." Unlike other "instruments" that make you tap or shake the iPhone for tunes, this one has you blowing on it like you would a real Ocarina. It also calls a horse to your side and allows you to travel through time.

dTunes already has Torrent support and a host of other features that make it a great replacement for the iPhone's stock iTunes player, so what else can be added to make it better? Well, a lot of things, apparently. Developer Richard Shearman is still hard at work on furthering dTunes' functionality, and he has just released version 2.6. Changelog after the jump.

Frank8's came out with another update for his Caller ID Fix Collection application. Support for Chile, Morocco, Algeria, Italy, Japan, Sri Lanka, Netherlands Antilles, Serbia, Panama, Virgin Islands US/UK, Gambia has been added.

It seems a lot of old applications for the iPhone firmware 1.1.4 are making a comeback these days. RemindYou is one of these apps, and now it has a new 2.0 release that works with firmware 2.x.
