The new iPhone FPS that ngmoco was teasing about last month, Eliminate, is finally in the App Store. What makes this game cool is that apart from looking pretty good for an iPhone game, it's free to play.

Earlier, we posted about the demise of the cover artist for the classic Doom. Now, we bring you news of the game being reborn, this time on the mobile. Doom Classic has just been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Nothing like a slew of big names to get the crowd going for ya. Be it in games, apps, or other forms of software, this week's batch has a big name on it. Let's see - Wolfenstein, Dracula, Metallica, Doom, NASA, iTunes, Blackra1n. Wouldn't want to miss those, so read up and stay informed.

The zombie apocalypse is coming yet again, but for those who feel that all the zombie-shooting and bludgeoning has gotten a bit old, why don't you take a ride on the Zombonie? Let all your pent-up road rage out and purge the streets of the undead. If you're tired of just shooting them down, how about running them over?

id Software has released a major update to their remake of the ever-popular FPS game Wolfenstein 3D Classic for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The update contains tons of new features and additional contents.

Fishlabs had high hopes for the App Store release of Rally Master Pro. It was awarded Best Mobile Game of 2008 by Pocket Gamer, and has since been the subject of talk as far as iPhone racers were concerned. The good news: a lot of people are playing it. The bad news: 95% of those people are playing pirated copies.

After the whole Napster debacle Metallica is now quite gung ho about using newfangled technology to get their music out to the public. They partnered up with Activision for Guitar Hero: Metallica earlier this year, and now they're teaming up with Tapulous for a stab at the iPhone gaming market.

Doom Resurrection's been out and about in the App Store for a couple of months now. However, if you find yourself pining for the good ol' classic version, this here's some great news for  you. John Cormack himself has announced that Doom Classic will be joining Resurrection on the App Store soon.

For this offering of our weekly recap, we see a resurgence of all sorts in the gaming industry. Finally we see a PS3 kicking ass in the sales charts, finally we see another big homebrew breakthrough for the PSP, and finally, it looks like things are definitely looking up for the videogame world in general. It is certainly looking like it's gonna be a happy holidays we're having this year.
