Straight from Apple's "It's only rock and roll, but we like it" event comes this staggering statistic of the App Store housing literally thousands of games. And then comes the revelation of more games coming, price cuts, and a new iPod nano model with a camera.

Apple Insider is "independently confirming" that there will be a media event happening on Wednesday, September 9th, hosted by Apple, for them to launch their new lines of iPods, along with a bevy of other music-related announcements.

We've had a few publishers whip their E3 lineups out this week, so we're starting to get a picture of all those publishers and developers packed inside the LA Convention Center next week - but hold up, a few won't cut it.
